Owners’ comments
BARGAIN ANCESTRAL HOUSE, REVENUE PROPERTY, SELLING AT 3/4 OF ITS COMMERCIAL VALUE .
Large house dating from the late 1800's built by the village blacksmith . This house has 2 civic addresses; a main house and a 4 1/2 (rented $ 640 per month ) on the upper floor.
Located in the heart of the village of St- Faustin, 1 km from Mont Blanc, 10 km from Mont Tremblant, this house was used as a Bed and Breakfast for many years and could be converted easily with a nice apartment for the owners.
The main house is on 2 floors. The ground floor has 9 foot ceilings, antique moldings and original paned windows, abundant woodwork, an old wood cook stove, fully renovated kitchen (keeping in the spirit of the era ), and an efficient EPA wood stove. The 1st floor has lower ceilings and many smaller rooms (except one), that reflect the traditions of the period, where life unfolded mainly in the kitchens around the wood stove.
The 4 1/2 it is located in the attic. Built in 1987, it uses the space under the roof in a unique way. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated and have a warm character. It has a rooftop patio providing a pleasant living space overlooking the backyard for a tenant to enjoy. ( no pictures available in the gallery because it is currently rented , but we will be happy to send you photos we took prior to rental )
The hydro meter is shared between both the apartment and main house, and consequently so is the electricity bill. New owners may install a second meter if desired.
The land is bordered by a stream and large mature pines. A 16x16 shed that serves as a workshop and storage for firewood is located in the courtyard. The adjacent land on the north side is also the neighbor's yard which gives a pleasant and relatively private space for a house in a village. There is parking for 3 vehicles.
Note, the house needs a coat of paint on the outside. But don't get hung up on this detail. You will be impressed by the inside that is really worth more than the asking price, and is very well maintained.
Finally, we can send you a few summer pictures that will show the summer look of the property with gardens etc... We hope to find buyers who will appreciate and conserve the historical qualities of this house.
See you soon
