Owners’ comments
Belle-Ile (also known as Turner Island) is located in Lac Edouard, High St-Maurice Quebec, Canada. Great site on a unique large natural private island located 375 km north east of Montreal.
Belle Ile is the largest island (1.9 sq. km or 488 acres) on this 34km long lake. Exceptional enchanting site for hunting deer, moose, partridge, duck etc... and fishing trout. Watersports and sandy beach nearby.
This beautiful area certainly offres a serene and private environment as well as useful commodities (wharf for boat and hydroplane) and a three season cottage. The cottage is 24 ft x 36 ft and includes a kitchen, living room with slow combustion stove, three bedrooms and a bathroom. Clean water is pumped directly from the lake.
Most part of the island is untouched and covered with a mixed forest. Offers edible mushrooms and Eastern yews (this schrub can be harvested for the pharmaceutical industry to produce taxol useful in cancer treatment).
Between the sale by the province to Lord Turner in 1905 and up until now, this beautiful island has only been owned by two families.
