CENTENARY PROPERTY – DUPLEX SIDE-BY-SIDE (SEMI-DETACHED) – UNIQUE IN LONGUEUIL

A unique century-old property, made up of 2 semi-detached house units, one of which is rented out (same tenant since 1991) while the other is occupied by the owner. The property is located in a highly popular sector, in the heart of Old Longueuil, just a few minutes away from St-Charles Street with its businesses and restaurants.

Both houses have their own 200-amp electricity panel. Plumbing has been changed. The shingles of the shroof were changed in November 2009. The attic could be converted into a workshop or something other.

Each house offers a large landscaped lot with mature trees and perennials, as well as a parking space that can accommodate 4 cars. The backyards are entirely fenced in, with a large garden shed built of barn wood. You’d think you were out in the country!

Number 372 (the owner’s side) has been completely renovated between 2004 and 2009. On the main floor, with its 9-foot ceilings and its open-space rooms, you find the entrance with ceramic-tile flooring, a den and a living room with the original hardwood laths, a kitchen and a dining room with new linoleum installed in 2008. A toilet and a central vacuum cleaner were also added. It was completely repainted in 2009 with added woodwork and moulding. The house is electrically heated. Number 370 (the tenant’s side) still has the original divisions and woodwork (painted).The plumbing and electricity were redone. On the main floor, there is the entrance, a living room and a small office with original hardwood lath flooring and a large kitchen with wooden cupboards. At the back of the house, there is a boxed entrance mostly used to store garden and other accessories. Heating is provided by a newly installed (2008) natural gas furnace. The air ducts were cleaned out at that time. The stairs and railing are the originals. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom and a separate toilet.
