Owners’ comments
Huge 2020 sq. ft. two-storey house, renovated from A to Z, including plumbing, electricity, roofing. With avant-garde design, high ceilings and antique woodwork.
The entrance hall on the ground floor leads to a well-lighted 40 foot open space combining living room and dining room with adjoining kitchen provided with light flowing in from an aperture in the ceiling. Cupboards are made of wood, metal and glass. Stove can be natural gaz or electric. Next to it is a a large bedroom with walk-in closet followed by full bathroom with a rare antique 6 ft bathtub. Door opens on a small private courtyard with sliding wooden door unlocking on the alley. Seasonal parking is possible in the yard providing it’s a small car. The second floor contains five rooms. A large bedroom with walk-in closet; a bathroom with antique tub and separate shower and an adjoining lavatory with toilet, sink and superposed washer/dryer; a second bedroom; a kitchenette (easily converted to small bedroom) opening on a balcony and finally a large office space with adjacent room (formally used as library). This cottage can easily be reconverted into a duplex. It is situated at walking distance to the Mount Royal and close to St-Lawrence street, the pedestrian Prince-Arthur street, and the cultural center on Montréal including the Jazz Festival Sight.
