Escape from the pressures of life and slow things down just enough to make your next home the perfect location in Wakefield, Quebec! Your cozy cabin is waiting for you on 2 beautifully situated acres. You are close enough to everything in the region that is fun and exciting - but private enough to enjoy what the great outdoors has to offer. Far enough to be secluded but close enough to reap the rewards... simply 5 minutes away from the village of Wakefield, 20 mins to Gatineau and 30 minutes from Ottawa!

This two-bedroom, one bathroom Cabin has an open loft concept on the second floor, a great area for a game room, office, a nice reading area or an open concept second bedroom.

The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet that is also home to an infra-red sauna (included). The large bathroom has a separate large shower, and tub.
The open concept living room (with wood fireplace), dining room and kitchen has great natural lighting due to all the surrounding windows.

A convenient deck surrounds the front of the cabin and a larger deck where the hot tub (included) is located. The private wooded 2-acre lot currently has no neighbours on either side and has a large fire pit.

The cabin was built in 2015 and then upgrades as follows:

  • In 2017, part of the loft floor was completed, new railings installed, new fascia and outdoor work was completed.
  • In 2019, a new wood/tool shed was installed on the property (this shed has 2 separate sections - one was for firewood, the other for tools and lawnmower). As well as a new hot tub.
  • In 2021, snow-guards were installed on the roof.
  • In 2022, a new fire-pit installed outside with a new rock garden.

  • Hospital
  • Two pharmacies

The steps involved in buying a property

Could this property be “the one”? Here’s an overview of the steps involved in becoming the owner. These steps and the legal implications remain the same whether the property is purchased from an individual or through a broker.

1
Financing

One of the first things to do when looking for a property is to get a mortgage preapproval from a financial institution. The goal is to determine borrowing capacity, and as a result, the price range to be looking in.

2
Offer to purchase

The property suits the budget and needs? Time to submit an offer to purchase! This document sets out the price, the elements included in the sale, the possession date, the conditions of purchase and all other information relevant to the sale.

3
Conditions of purchase

The offer to purchase generally includes conditions. The most common are the property passing an inspection, the buyer providing proof of financing and the buyer selling their own property. Once the listed conditions are met, the property is considered sold.

4
Property transfer

The last step is to see a notary, who is generally chosen by the buyer. This real estate professional drafts the deed of sale and ensures that the interests of all parties involved are respected.

Once the deed of sale is notarized, the new owner gets the keys to the home. All that’s left is to move in!
