If you are dreaming of living on the side of a lake with all the advantages of a city just a few minutes away, then this is the house for you.  If you like the outdoors, there is something to do each season. This home with three bedrooms situated on the shore of Lac Tourbillion has a southern exposure so you can benefit from sun all day long.

 

There is a patio on each level on lakeside.  Steps connect the two patios and lead to a wharf. In summer, you can swim, canoe, kayak or fish for trout.  In winter, you can skate on the lake, cross-country ski or simply take a quiet walk.  There are two golf courses, one less than 5 minutes away, the other about 10 minutes.  A ski center is 10 minutes from the house.

 

The home is split entrance in design. An oak stairway connects the two levels. The main level has a vast space that integrates a dining room with sitting area and a kitchen.  A high cathedral ceiling made with oak to match the floor and the organization of the space gives a sense of openness with a cozy feeling. An energy efficient fireplace, bay window and all the wood finishing contribute to making this open space comfortable and warm.

 

In the kitchen, there is a built-in oven, a refrigerator, a microwave and a dishwasher that are integrated into the cupboards of light oak. The cupboards provide a lot of space and are user friendly.  A bridge, suspended from the ceiling, contains halogen spot lights that light an island that contains a Jenn-Air stovetop.  The ceramic floor is connected to a hall that goes to a laundry on one side and a full bathroom on the other side. The walls and floor of the bathroom are covered with ceramic. The vanity with matching cupboard over toilet is made from German laminate and has a band with built in lighting.  There is a built-in spa tub with a shower. The toilet is eco-friendly by having two levels of flush.

 

A patio door, in the kitchen, leads to a spacious patio that gives the impression that you are already on the lake. This area is ideal for barbecuing and outdoor eating.

 

Two bedrooms on the roadside of the house complete the living space of this level. Each room has a large window with a half-moon top allowing for a lot of light to enter, a wooden floor, closets with mirror doors and built in places to hang and place clothing. Both bedrooms have high cathedral ceilings and contain spaces for extra storage which is very useful.

 

Stairs lead to the first level that opens to an office with built-in furniture on two walls. There are cupboards, filing drawers, shelves and a workspace made from laminate. The color is a rich burgundy. For extra space, there is a single and double closet in the room. The floor is ceramic. A sliding French door connects the office to the living room.

 

The living room also has an energy efficient wood burning fireplace. There are glass shelves and spaces lined with pine to hold wood.  The floor is covered with 15mm engineered wood. At the end of the living room is a cozy corner for reading or just relaxing with a large window that gives a perfect view of the lake. A patio door opens on the lower patio and leads directly to the wharf.

 

The master bedroom is on this level. It has a complete wall of closet space that has sliding mirror doors. There is ample space for a complete set of bedroom furniture. It has a wooden floor. A sliding door connects the bedroom to a bathroom with marble flooring. The walls have matching ceramic. The German laminate vanity is spacious and has drawers and cupboards for plenty of storage. A corner shower has ceramic walls. The toilet is eco-friendly with duo flush. This bathroom has a second door that connects to the living room.

 

In addition to the two energy efficient wood burning fireplaces, the principal source of heat is with Convectairs and units of forced air under the cupboards to give more space and allows for flexibility in placing furniture. In each room, there are several options for lighting including dimmers and reading lights as well as lighting over and under cupboards. This allows you to create an ambiance appropriate to your mood and comfort.
