Owners’ comments
On the mountainside, this large country house, a former general store converted into an inn, has a whole history and character.
Completely restored in 1994, it began its new life as a bed and breakfast and later became an Inn that delighted thousands of visitors as well as myself. Extended and renovated in 1999-2000, in 2008, and in 2018, it has been residential since 2010.
The first floor houses 4 bedrooms, one of which has a balcony, a bathroom with a laundry chute, a toilet, bedding, a linen room, and the master bedroom comprises 2 rooms, a shower, and a washbasin.
On the ground floor, a large living room, with a wet bar, a bathroom (toilet-sink), a huge fully glazed dining room with a breathtaking view of our beautiful mountains, a stove and wood shed, built-in solid wood storage units, and two kitchens with propane gas inlet for a stove, hob and outdoor outlet for the BBQ, two outlets for electric stoves, 4 hoods, 3 places for fridges, 2 double sinks, 2 entries for dishwashers, 2 islands, lots of cupboards, a laundry chute and a central vacuum.)
Downstairs, cellar side, a vault, a storage room including electrical panels, 60 gal water heater, washer-dryer entrances, a Caddy wood furnace, and a large wood shed with exterior door. On the semi-basement side, towards the back, with a small patio and a great view overlooking a private entrance on one level, there is a small apartment comprising a kitchenette, central vacuum, a small living room/dinette, a full bathroom with a shower, a small bedroom and a large bedroom with double bath and sink.
The land is approximately 155 by 200 feet, on levels, semi-landscaped, inhabited by mature trees, an apple tree, and a lilac.
This house with a large terrace is ideal for a young family wanting to live in the country and make ends meet with rental income, a couple of young retirees dreaming of running an inn, a B&B or an Airbnb, or a bigenerational family. It would also be perfect for a professional wishing to have his office at home (doctor, accountant, notary, lawyer, etc ...), a teleworker, a health center, a country table, a producer-processor of local products with a shop that would have a storefront, an artist-painter, a writer, in short, the possibilities are endless, the air is pure and country life is simply magical... and at a much lower cost!
