Owners’ comments
Beautiful country house builded in 1882. The land and the house have been well taking care of. Carefully maintained and restored during the last 26 years this piece of land has become a bird sanctuary and a wildlife garden. Rare indigenous plants and trees have been preserved by time. Deer, wild turkeys, small mammals and many species of birds share this garden.
The house has large apartments, high ceilings on the first floor, All windows opens and have screens, the roof has been re-constructed and insulated. plumbing is all cop and ABS pipes. The basement is dry and usable for a hobby shop and storage. It's a solid and comfortable house.
The 3 acres land lead to 300 feet front of the river, the shores are wild and there are the land of wild geese and turtles. The river is easy to access for canoe and kayak, fishing and swimming. There is also a large pond from water sources that is suitable for swimming.
There is a garage for one car with an attic for storage, a parking for 3 cars, a small greenhouse, a large garden with flowers and fruit trees and a lot of room to grow your own fresh vegetables.
Old white Oaks, maple and black cherry trees share the land with birch, poplar, elm, and other hardwood trees.
The house is build 60 feet higher than the river which gives a beautiful view on the mountain. The back veranda and patio are facing north-east and are well appreciated in the hot summer days.
Less than 10 minutes from highway 55 that leads to Vermont by south or to highway 20 toward north which leads to Montreal in 1 hour and 15 minutes , to Sherbrooke in 35 minutes, to Drummondville in 25 minutes and Quebec city in 1hour and 45 minutes. The beautiful town of Richmond is at 6 Km. has most essential services, French and English schools, Arena, public pool, museums, art center, medical clinic and CLSC, Golf court, Restaurants and cafés, public market etc.
For nature lovers.
