Owners’ comments
Built in 1870, this fine ancestral house was the first on this quiet and lovely little street, just 5 minutes walk from Laurier métro station. This Second Empire period house is exceptional and has been well maintained throughout the decades.
In the last ten years, the bathrooms and kitchen were remodeled. The plumbing, electricity, insulation, roofing, and windows were also renovated or restored. There are three bedrooms on the second floor and an additional room on the ground floor that can be used as a den, an office, library or bedroom. The semi-basement is entirely finished and can be used as a recreation room or guest bedroom. It has its own full bathroom as well.
In the front, the property is fenced and landscaped as a garden. There is also a small back courtyard looking onto Drolet street and a charming, treed children's park. The overall impression is like living in the countryside ...but in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Next door is the administrative office of the Rideau Vert Theatre, recently fully rebuilt with elegance and good taste.
Over several generations, this residence and its twin neighbor have generally been inhabited by two close families (siblings or intergenerational). However, the electric systems, the plumbing, and living spaces have been separated for a long time.
This townhouse with its terrace and garden, solarium and courtyard are offered as undivided co-ownership.
